While many online investors are familiar with Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum, how many of us have heard of Ripple? How many of us new that it’s the world’s third largest cryptocurrency?

According to the brains at Investopedia.com, Ripple is one of the few coins that uses an open source platform. This means that it is easy to transfer and exchange into other currencies including fiat or USD. The coin also is not available for mining, the creating company owns most of the currency, according to sources at Profit Confidential.

This past June, Ripple hit a market cap of over 10 billion dollars right after Bitcoin at 45 billion and Ethereum at 31 billion. Profit Confidential reports that “when it comes to the Ripple XRP price, the numbers are all rather positive so far, which is why investors are so interested in the cryptocurrency.”

The value of Ripple skyrocketed to over 3000% its original stock in 2017.

Once Ripple is made available on Coinbase, thousands may go in for the grab and increase its market value even more. The coin currently has positive influence, and this is what is bringing more investors onboard.

“At the end of the day, buy low, buy what you can afford to lose, and be patient in downturns,” says CryptoCracken CEO Jack Lombardi.

What this Means for Investors

Purchasing $1000 USD of Ripple gives you 4132.33 in Ripple currency. That rate is expected to climb once Ripple becomes more mainstream and by doubling that exchange rate. However, the goal of cryptocurrency investing is to keep in mind the stair-like trend in which values climb. Investors, upon seeing a smaller percent value increase sell and then purchase again once the price levels out. They are able to make a profit while keeping their assets safe.
